You know that thing, when you wish you could bottle a feeling? And you could just open it whenever you want and take a whiff?
I aim to do exactly that. To capture that feeling—that hunger, that warmth, the atmosphere, that deep, unforgettable connection—into a visual that makes you stop and wish you could reach into the picture and take a bite. The smell of fresh herbs and toasted sugar wafts through your mom’s kitchen. Your favourite place to be on a Sunday morning. A place of love and warmth and shared stories, and laughter. You can’t help but let the icing, running down the warm cinnamon buns, drip on your finger so you can lick it off, before you sit down and reach for the tea pot.
You don’t even know what you want to taste first - what a feast! "
Can you just pass me the salad?" The words are muffled over the chatter, the laughter, and the music. You’re eying the sticky, saucy chicken wings, heaped on the board in front of you, as you reach for a napkin, knowing full well you'll need it. Sweet, smoky, and salty—a perfect mess of shared, casual comfort with friends. You raise the glass, meeting the eye of your friend across the table. You haven’t seen her in ages! The cool condensation wetting your fingers.. the icy, sweet, electric citrus tang hitting your tongue.. This is how a long overdue catch-up begins - with the drama of half a passionfruit and a mint sprig in a MaiTai and a sharp clink in the heat of summer.
Outside, the rain is falling, it’s grey, it’s cold… but in here, it’s warm, it’s cozy, and the bowl in your hands is nothing but perfection. You dip the toasty slice into the velvety soup and every spoonful of earthy, velvety goodness is the reminder of how wonderful a grey day can truly be. It’s the simple, perfect comfort of being completely, peacefully home.
